Kalinga State University- College of Entrepreneurship, Tourism, and Hospitality Management (CETHM) is thrilled to welcome the newest batch of First year and transferee students as they step into a world of hospitality, innovation, and endless possibilities on August 16, 2024, at 2nd Floor, AVR Building, Bulanao Campus. Organized by the College Dean, Karen Razzelle M. Duyan, DBM and Staff. Participated by the Faculty members, Students and KSU officials.

This orientation aims to help the newcomers to be familiarized with the academic environment and expectations, campus rules and regulations, college resources and social opportunities available to them.

The program provides information about the process of evaluating their coursework, essential information in addressing specific challenges to ensure they understand their academic standing and can seamlessly continue their academic journey.

In her welcome remarks, College Dean, Dr. Karen Razzelle M. Duyan, emphasized hands-on learning through internships, industry partnerships, and real-world projects, ensuring that students gain valuable insights into the workings of the tourism and hospitality sectors.

“Here at KSU you will be immersed in a dynamic learning environment that combines academic excellence with practical industry experience. Our faculty, composed of seasoned professionals, will equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in this competitive yet rewarding industry.” Duyan added.

Mr. Daniel Pannogan, BS Entrepreneur Program Chairman, further explained the Rules and Regulations of the College and the policies of the university that they must abide.

Mr. Rizaldie Grindulo from the UDRRMO, shared his expertise regarding fire and earthquake safety measures for the students to be equipped with skills and knowledge on basic survival skills during unexpected circumstances. He emphasized the importance of having the basic knowledge on how to manipulate fire extinguishers. He also summarized the duck-cover-and-hold Technique. “We will be having earthquake drills not to have fun games, but it is a serious activity to integrate and remind students to be resilient, and must have a systematic way of movements”, he added.
