Kalinga State University united as one family to celebrate a thanksgiving mass in honor of University President Dr. Eduardo T. Bagtang’s birthday on September 24, 2024. Attended by university officials, faculty, staff, and students, the event reflected the KSU family’s appreciation for their leader.

Officiated by Fr. Romeo Dawaton, the mass focused on gratitude for another year in President Bagtang’s life, along with prayers for his continued good health. Fr. Dawaton expressed hopes for more years of service, especially for those who seek guidance from the president.

During the Handog Pasasalamat program, President Bagtang, in his heartfelt response, expressed gratitude—not only for the testimonies shared but for the collective gesture of the KSU family coming together in celebration. He reflected on his 62 years of life, acknowledging that much of it was dedicated to KSU and the academic community he has served.

President Bagtang also announced his decision to conclude his government service at KSU, calling on everyone to fully support the incoming university president. “This is our house, and we must protect it to ensure that more students enter, receive an education, and leave as productive members of society. This is another chapter I will proudly share outside of KSU,” he remarked.//MJ Wacas-UIO
