Kalinga State University made a significant global impact by participating in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) Global Conference 2024, held from September 24-26 at the Seoul School of Integrated Sciences & Technologies (aSSIST) University in Seoul, Korea.

The conference opened with a declaration from WURI Honorary President Dr. Oh Myung and a keynote speech by Member of National Assembly Honorable Eun Hye Kim. KSU was represented by Dr. Karen Razelle M. Duyan, who actively engaged in various conference activities.

The conference culminated in the highly anticipated awards ceremony, where KSU was recognized for its innovative accomplishments. The university secured impressive rankings, including 8th in Entrepreneur Spirit (A4), 9th in Crisis Management (A5), and 5th in Symbol and Promotion. Notably, KSU was ranked 160th among the Global Top 300 Innovative Universities.

Beyond the awards, the conference marked the establishment of the World University Network of Innovation (WUNI). Dr. Duyan played a crucial role in founding this global network, which aims to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among university leaders and experts.

During the conference, Dr. Duyan presented KSU’s successful case under Entrepreneur Spirit (A4), titled “Personal Entrepreneurial Competencies of Integrated Natural Resources Enhancement Program People Organization Members: Basis for the Improvement of Livelihood Enhancement Support Training Designs.” The presentation was well-received by international experts from various institutions, including Singapore Management University, Deggendorf Institute of Technology, West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Mountain Province State Polytechnic College, and Gachon University.

Additionally, Dr. Duyan presented another successful case on behalf of Ms. Sharmaine Codiam, focusing on Symbol and Promotion. The case, titled “Yookah Native Pig Breed Production and Management Protocols,” showcased KSU’s innovative approach to sustainable agriculture and biodiversity conservation.

Both of KSU’s presented cases were awarded certificates, highlighting the university’s contributions to the field of innovation.

The conference concluded with the announcement of Tongmyong University in Busan as the host for the upcoming WURI 2025.
