Kalinga State University became the vibrant hub of athleticism and unity as it hosted the 2024 KAHEI Sports Festival and the First Angara Unity Cup from November 25 to 27, 2024. Under the theme, “KAHEI: Aspire to Greatness, Persevere in Adversity, Triumph Together,” the event fostered not only competition but also camaraderie and collaboration among students from various higher education institutions (HEIs).

In her welcome remarks, delivered on her behalf by Vice President for Academics and Student Development, Dr. Marilou B. Adora, Dr. Joy Grace P. Doctor highlighted the significance of collective effort and understanding. “Today marks not just an event in our calendar but a significant moment where the spirit of competition is intertwined with camaraderie and unity,” she emphasized.

The event received overwhelming support from notable national leaders. Representatives of Senator Sonny Angara, Senator Pia Cayetano, and Senator Bong Go expressed their strong backing for the initiative. Senator Angara, through his representative, Mr. Jasper Nunes, pledged to sustain the Angara Unity Cup, ensuring its continuity in the years to come.

President Doctor extended her gratitude to all participating HEIs and the hardworking committees behind the event’s success.

As the festival concluded, the 2024 KAHEI Sports Festival and Angara Unity Cup stood as a symbol of athletic excellence, perseverance, and the enduring spirit of unity among HEIs in the province. /MJ Wacas-UIO
