Kalinga State University recently participated in a significant international event on February 12, 2025: the UTP Philippine Industry Partnership Roundtable discussion, held at the Malaysian Embassy in the Philippines. This important gathering was both sponsored and organized by Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP). Representing KSU at this event were Dr. Pinky Larcelle Gas- ib, Director of ODEITEIL, Dr. Ronald U.Wacas Dean of College of Engineering and Information Technology, Dr. Karen Razelle Duyan, Dean of the College of Entrepreneurship, Tourism, and Hospitality Management (CETHM) and Research Director Brenda Lumines. The KSU delegation, along with other attendees, were warmly welcomed by His Excellency Dato Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia to the Philippines.

The roundtable discussions centered around two critical and timely topics: Technology in the Halal Industry and Energy Security and Transition. These discussions provided a valuable collaborative platform, uniting experts from UTP, prominent industry partners, and leading higher education institutions across the Philippines. The primary objective of this initiative was to cultivate academic, diplomatic, and industry synergies. By fostering cross-border knowledge exchange and encouraging active stakeholder engagement, the roundtable aimed to build stronger relationships and promote collaborative opportunities.

This participation underscores KSU’s commitment to international partnerships and its focus on relevant industry-driven discussions on business, engineering and information technology. By fostering dialogue at the intersection of innovation, sustainability and global challenges, the event promotes multidisciplinary collaboration, aligning academic expertise industry i sights and policy strategies to deliver impactful incomes.
