Kalinga State University took part in the unveiling of the Kalinga Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) Plan 2024-2028 and the Tabuk City Smart and Sustainable Communities (SSC) Hub on February 19, 2025, at the Tabuk City Hall Conference Room.

Formulated under the Department of Science and Technology’s (DOST) iSTART program, the Kalinga STI Plan 2024-2028 serves as a strategic framework for advancing development initiatives, emphasizing resilience and technology-driven growth. KSU played a pivotal role as a partner agency of the Tabuk City Local Government Unit (LGU) in the formulation of the plan.

The unveiling was led by DOST Secretary Renato U. Solidum Jr., DOST Undersecretary for Regional Operations Sancho A. Maborang, Governor James S. Edduba, Congressman Allen Jesse Mangaoang, DOST-CAR Regional Director Nancy A. Bantog, and DOST-Kalinga Provincial Director Jasmin Donaal, along with other key officials.

Following the ceremony, an open forum was conducted, where members of the Ikalinga Network of Information Officers and Workers and other media practitioners engaged in discussions, raising relevant concerns and insights regarding the implementation of the STI Plan and the SSC Hub.
