March 13, 2025 – Rotaract week is an annual celebration that highlights the values of leadership, service and community development among young leaders. In line with this, the Rotaract Club of Kalinga State University Celebrated World Rotaract Week through an intimate gathering that aims to formally turn over all accomplished projects of the Rotaract Club to their respective beneficiaries and to increase awareness and engagement among students in community service initiatives and encourage them for future participation in Rotaract programs.
Spearheaded by their advisers, Ms. Mayshein L. Balagso and Mr. Leimar C. Taganguin, organized by the members of the Rotaract Club of Kalinga and participated by the University representatives, and distinguished guests. The highlights of the gathering was the turnover of medical books to the KSU Library through the generous donation of Dr. Jaime A. Almora, Medical Director and 3rd president of the Rotary Club of Tabuk City.
Mr. Leimar C. Taganguin emphasized that the book donation initiative goes beyond merely collecting books- it is about fostering connections within the community, igniting imaginations, and empowering minds. “Every book donated is a gift, a doorway to new worlds and endless possibilities,” he added.
He further elaborated on the theme, “Responsible Action for Community Leadership and Service with Legacy,” highlighting its essence as a pledge to ethical and accountable leadership. He underscored that true service is not just about making an immediate impact but about creating meaningful, lasting change. By acting with intention and integrity, this initiative aspires to leave a legacy that benefits not only the present community but also future generations.
Director for Student Development Services and Placement Services (SDSPS), Mr. Ronald B. Bulwayan, expressed his gratitude to the Almora family for their generosity in donating medical books to the University. He assured that all the books donated are valuable to the medical courses and future medicl students.
In his inspirational message, Dr Jaime A. Almora, reminisced his college days and how those books became part of his journey. He also emphasized the principle of “service above self,” highlighting that fellowship through service fosters meaningful connections with others while contributing to the community. Additionally, he underscored the importance of the Rotary Four-Way Test, encouraging students to believe in themselves and recognize their potential to make a positive impact on society.
