Day 2 Training of KSU’s Capability Building on Sustainable Production of High-quality Bamboo Propagules, Plantation Establishment, and post-harvest technology among bamboo growers in the province of Kalinga.

Spearheaded by the Project Team leader, Forester Victorino D. Bayed, participants of the two-day training witnessed the university bamboo productions near the University’s Heritage Center and within the compound of the university’s mushroom production Center. During the field demonstration, participants were amazed about the existence of these sanctuaries for they have witnessed actual Bamboo Propagation Techniques, as well as the Care, and Maintenance of bamboo Propagules. A total of at least 20 bamboo species were discovered and sustained by the team.

Before the end of the training, there was an open forum and a training evaluation where participants expressed their gratitude for the opportunity and effort given by the team and an appreciation for the support of the University. In response to the participant’s gratitude is a promising note from the project team leader as he mentioned a future signing of a Memorandum of Agreement with DENR and to the participants who are members of an association and full assistance to nonmembers who are bamboo enthusiasts. He also assured that participants be given the bamboo propagules once it’s ready for distribution.
