DICT-Kalinga provincial head MS. Monalisa Vizcarra, together with one of the DICT resource speakers, Mr. Mike Payangdo, conveyed the RAISE Startup School Caravan to Kalinga State University, College of Engineering & Information Technology, today, September 19, 2024, at the CNHS, Audiovisual room.

The primary respondents of the DICT’s Raising Awareness and Inspiring the Startup Ecosystem (RAISE) Startup School Caravan are the 3rd and 4th-year Information Technology (IT) students from the College of Engineering & Information Technology since they are now taking their thesis studies. One of the targets of this initiative is to introduce the Philippine STARTUP Challenge (PSC), the DICT’s flagship annual start-up competition among Students (Senior High School & College students) where it opens an avenue to encourage and support Filipino Youth in their creativity in terms of innovations which is potential for development and provides impact to business industries and for community-based utilization.

This initiative likewise opens an opportunity for KSU’s IT students to extend capstone (Thesis) ideas or projects with high potential for business ventures or contribute to modern technology which may also be an entry for the DICT’s Philippine STARTUP Challenge (PSC). Faculty members in the IT program appreciated this effort since it gives another opportunity to extend the creative crafts of their students in terms of technology and innovation.
