In a show of spiritual solidarity for the 2024 bar examinees, the Kalinga State University College of Law, led by Dean Judge Marcelino K. Wacas, organized a send-off mass on September 7, 2024, at the KSU Alumni Center. The mass was also streamed live on the official Facebook pages of the College of Law and KSU.

The send-off mass was officiated by Rev. Fr. Romeo Dawaton and attended by university officials, faculty, and law students. In his homily, Fr. Dawaton emphasized the message of the responsorial psalm, “The Lord is near to all who call upon Him,” highlighting the importance of prayer in the bar examinees’ journey. He reminded the examinees that their preparation for the bar should have begun the day they entered law school and urged them to rely on their faith and hard work. “The entire KSU family extends its full support to you,” Fr. Dawaton said, offering words of encouragement.

He concluded by wishing the examinees success and expressed hope that they would all be present to celebrate when the results are released in December.

Following the mass, a brief program was held, featuring motivational speeches from Dean Judge Marcelino Wacas, Program Chair Atty. Brandon Dangatag, Judge Carlo Oscar Boacon, and representatives from the faculty and student body. The event aimed to uplift the examinees’ spirits ahead of their exams.

In his message, President Eduardo T. Bagtang, delivered by the Vice President for Academics and Student Development, Dr. Marilou B. Adora, underscored the importance of self-belief and the need to cultivate strong faith to achieve one’s goals and successfully meet the challenges ahead.

Atty. Brandon Dangatag announced that 31 candidates from KSU will be taking the bar exams, scheduled for September 8, 11, and 15, 2024./MJ Wacas-KSU Info Unit
