Today, Kalinga State University marked its 11th University Charter Day at the KSU gymnasium with a solemn thanksgiving mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Jeorge D. Manisem, the parish priest of St. William’s Cathedral.

The commemorative mass was attended by the University officials, faculty, administrative staff, and students, reflecting the collective spirit of the university.

This occasion holds special significance as it marks the conversion of Kalinga – Apayao State College into Kalinga State University through the enactment of RA 10584 on May 24, 2013. As such, it is celebrated annually as a milestone in the university’s journey.

Following the thanksgiving mass, the awarding ceremony recognizing the achievements of participants in the PASUC-NCAF 2024 and CARASUC 2024 competitions ensued. Certificates and medals were bestowed upon deserving individuals for their contributions.

In his message, President Eduardo T. Bagtang conveyed heartfelt appreciation and congratulations to all athletes and coaches. “Your dedication in representing KSU embodies the true spirit of sportsmanship. Regardless of the outcome, your commitment to fair competition is commendable,” he remarked.

President Bagtang also emphasized the broader significance of participation in such events, highlighting their role in fostering personal development and positive behavior among athletes.

Mrs. May Josefa Shiu Buslig, Director for Sports and Socio-cultural Affairs, expressed sincere gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the events, stressing the collaborative effort that made it possible.
