Faculty researchers from Kalinga State University take part in the 2024 Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week which commenced today at Ifugao State University.

Dr. Eduardo T. Bagtang, university president and Dr. Lope T. Buen, vice president for research, development, extension, and training, lead the team at the event held at the main campus of Ifugao State University in Nayon Lamut, Ifugao.

This significant activity features collaboration among the DOST—Technology Application and Promotion Institute, Ifugao Provincial Local Government Unit, Ifugao State University, and Lamut Municipal Local Government Unit.

Spearheading this program is Dr. Nancy A. Bantog, the Regional Director of the Department of Science and Technology-CAR (DOST-CAR).

The event showcases a wide range of activities, including exhibits of projects funded by DOST, focusing on Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) and their profound impacts on Human Well-being, Wealth Creation, Wealth Protection, and Sustainability. These projects span diverse fields such as education, culture, food and agriculture, environment and natural resources, Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM), and climate adaptation, among others. Taking place from August 6 to 9, 2024, the event promises a week of enriching experiences.

A series of fora aligned with the pillars of DOST will be conducted, covering various science and technology topics. These sessions target LGU representatives, National Government Agencies (NGAs), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), researchers, health workers, and interested individuals.

Faculty researchers from KSU actively participate in exhibits, presenting KSU projects and products funded by DOST.
