The Kalinga State University Student Research Congress 2024 took place on December 17, 2024, at the First Floor, Conference Hall of the Research and Extension Building. The event showcased the research outputs of student researchers, fostering intellectual exchange and innovative solutions to real-world challenges.

In a message delivered through Chief Administrative Officer Dr. Romualdo U. Wacas, KSU President Dr. Joy Grace P. Doctor underscored the significance of student research in addressing pressing issues and contributing to knowledge creation. She expressed her hope that the event would serve as a platform for meaningful discussions, the generation of new ideas, and the development of impactful solutions that benefit not only local communities but also the broader society.

The evaluation of student research was divided into three categories, each assessed by distinguished panels of experts. For the Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources (AANR) category, the evaluators were Dr. Ferdinand Ganotice, Ms. Sharmaine Codiam, and Dr. Juliana Aclam. In the Information, Engineering, Emerging, and Technology (IEET) category, the panel included Dr. Robert Rodolfo, Dr. Ronald Wacas, and Dr. Rhonjhon Garming. For research outside these categories, referred to as Non-AANR, the evaluation team comprised Mr. Hamilton Macagne, Dr. Karen Razelle Duyan, and Dr. Bobby Licudine.

Faizal T. Gubia-on emerged as the 1st Place winner in the IEET category and qualified for the symposium’s oral presentation. Following him in the same category, Shere Ann B. Dona-al and her team secured 2nd Place, while April Grace T. Oggas and her team claimed 3rd Place, both also earning spots as symposium qualifiers for oral presentations. In the Non-AANR category, Andreline D. Familaran achieved 1st Place and qualified for the symposium, with Jaymar G. Lastimosa and his team taking 2nd Place, and Rolly Mischa Innuten C. Sawad earning 3rd Place, all advancing to the symposium’s oral presentation.

The KSU Student Research Congress 2024 not only highlighted the creativity and diligence of the university’s young researchers but also reaffirmed KSU’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and research-driven solutions.
