Kalinga State University was honored today, December 16, at the Internationalization Champion of Nation-building and Sustainability Awards (ICONS) 2024, organized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Pasay City.

The University earned this recognition for its exceptional performance in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2024, where it ranked 160th globally. This achievement underscores KSU’s commitment to fostering innovation and internationalization in higher education.

KSU President Dr. Joy Grace P. Doctor accepted the plaque and trophy on behalf Kalinga State University. She was joined by Dr. Pinky Larcelle Gas-ib, Director for Open Distance Education, Transnational Education, and International Linkages, during the ceremony.

Out of over 3,000 higher education institutions in the Philippines, KSU is one of only 89 institutions to receive this prestigious award, highlighting the University’s significant contribution to global academic excellence and nation-building through innovative programs and international partnerships.

The Kalinga State University community extends its recognition to former President Dr. Eduardo T. Bagtang for his instrumental role in achieving this award during his administration.

This recognition marks another milestone in KSU’s journey toward achieving greater global impact and sustainability in higher education.
