The Bagong Silang Texas Foundation (BSTF) Team visited Kalinga State University and met with 33 beneficiaries of their scholarship grants today. The visit marks the beginning of a stronger collaboration and the potential for further scholarship opportunities.

As a result of President Bagtang’s visit last February, 12 additional scholars were added to the initial 21. Mr. Archie Tamayo, President of BSTF, represented by Engr. Ulep, congratulated the scholars and encouraged them to bring honor to their community.

President Bagtang, in his address to the scholars, urged them to complete their studies and utilize the opportunities provided by BSTF to assist their families in the future. He also advised the faculty to dedicate extra time to tutoring the scholars to ensure they maintain their scholarships.

Dr. Mary Joyce Wangiwang, Director for Student Services, provided updates on the scholars, followed by the presentation of the scholars by Mrs. Esmerlyn Bayangan. Among the scholars, those who achieved dean’s lister status will be awarded with laptops, with two units already distributed through a draw lots system.
