The Bachelor of Science in Midwifery program is undergoing the Second Survey Accreditation by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc. (AACCUP) from December 2 to 6, 2024. This rigorous evaluation is part of KSU’s continuous effort to ensure that its academic programs meet high standards of quality, relevance, and effectiveness.
The accreditation process focused on assessing key areas such as curriculum and instruction, faculty qualifications, research outputs, extension and community involvement, student services, physical facilities, and program administration. AACCUP’s team of accreditors is conducting a comprehensive review to validate compliance with national and international standards, aiming to strengthen the program’s capacity to produce well-rounded graduates equipped for the healthcare industry.
In her welcome remarks, Dr. Marilou Adora, Vice President for Academics and Student Development, highlighted the significance of this milestone for the midwifery program. She emphasized that the accreditation is pivotal in shaping the future of midwifery education in the university and fostering a new generation of health professionals who will make a lasting impact on communities.
University President Dr. Joy Grace P. Doctor, represented by Dr. Paulino Reyes II, Vice President for Administration and Finance, reaffirmed KSU’s commitment to producing competent, compassionate, and ethical professionals. She underscored that the university’s efforts in pursuing accreditation reflect its mission to transform lives through quality education, particularly in empowering midwives to serve women and families effectively.
This Second Survey Accreditation marks a step forward in KSU’s mission to enhance its academic programs and uphold its vision of becoming a globally recognized university for excellence in health sciences education.
