On January 14, 2025, personnel from Kalinga State University (KSU), led by University President Joy Grace Doctor, paid a courtesy call to Tabuk City Mayor Darwin Estrañero. The visit focused on the university’s plans to expand its Dagupan Campus, with Mayor Estrañero assuring Doctor that the City Local Government Unit (CLGU) would support the project.

During the meeting, Estrañero also inquired about the university’s plans to introduce a medicine course, in which Doctor explained that while the course is in the pipeline, the university faces challenges, particularly the need for a Level 3 hospital in the city. Mayor Estrañero responded by offering the LGU’s assistance to help make this goal a reality, ensuring that the university’s initiatives will have the necessary support.
