In an effort to foster a safer and more supportive campus environment, KSU President Joy Grace P. Doctor held a meeting with university security guards today, November 19, 2024, at the Conference Hall of the administration building. In the meeting, she introduced herself as the new president and thanked them for their service to the university. She underscored their critical role in protecting students, employees and school property.
She also reminded the security guards that the school’s key clients are the students. “Without the students, the university ceases to exist” she said. In line with this, she relayed to the guards the issues that the students brought to her office. This is part of the initiative she started wherein students can relay to her directly their issues and complaints. President Doctor then calls the respective offices to address the complaints ensuring that students’ voices are heard, and their needs met.
President Doctor emphasized that the feedback loop is not a punitive measure but an opportunity to improve the university’s services. In addition to listening to student concerns, the president also took the opportunity to hear the feedback and suggestions of the security guards. She also shared with them her open office policy where they can go to her directly to relay their concerns. This is President Doctor’s commitment to open dialogue with both students and staff, and to execute swift action to significantly improve campus safety and overall client satisfaction.
