The College of Engineering and Information Technology welcomed both new and returning students today, August 22, 2024, during an orientation program held at the University Gymnasium, Bulanao Campus.

This orientation marks a crucial step in acquainting students with the array of services offered by the university. It aims to help students acclimate to their academic environment, introduce them to key university resources, and assist them in developing a personalized academic plan to ensure their academic success. The program also equips students with essential information, support, and connections vital for succeeding academically, socially, and professionally. Key topics discussed included university rules and regulations, an overview of the academic curriculum, and an introduction to the vision, mission, and various engineering and information technology programs available.

In his address, College Dean, Dr. Ronald U. Wacas, encouraged the students to stay focused on their goals to finish their studies on time because finishing their degree is not just meeting deadlines but it is about making the most of every moment they have in the university; it is about staying disciplined, managing their time effectively and fully utilizing the resources and support available to them.

“Remember, you are in the right place, with the right people, and with the right tools to become the best version of yourself. So, I urge you to give your best effort, push your limits and seize every opportunity that comes your way. The journey may be challenging at times, but the rewards will be worth it”, Dr. Wacas added.

The program proceeded with the introduction of faculty and staff, discussions on academic policies and procedures, as well as an overview of admission processes, curricular programs, and students’ rights and privileges.
