The Professional Regulatory Board of Civil Engineering (PRB-CE), led by Chairperson Hon. Praxedes P. Bernardo, alongside members Hon. Romeo A. Estañero and Hon. Pericles P. Dakay, conducted a virtual inspection of Kalinga State University’s Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) program today, March 10, 2025. The inspection was facilitated with the assistance of PRC-CAR representative, Ms. Zarah Mae I. Comom.

In attendance were key university officials, including Dr. Marilou B. Adora, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Student Development; Dr. Lope T. Buen, Vice President for Research, Development, Extension, and Training; Dr. Rhonjhon R. Garming, Director of the Planning and Strategic Unit; and Dr. Ronald U. Wacas, Dean of the College of Engineering and Information Technology. Also present were Engr. Gine O. Ganagan, Program Chair of the BSCE program; Engr. Noel B. Estilong, Laboratory Custodian for Materials and Testing; and Engr. Elizabeth C. Lumioan, Laboratory Custodian for Thermodynamics.

The inspection was conducted in accordance with Republic Act No. 544, as amended by Republic Act No. 1582, also known as the Civil Engineering Law. Specifically, Article II, Section 4 mandates the PRB-CE to inspect educational institutions offering civil engineering programs, as well as civil engineering projects and corporations, to uphold ethical and technological standards and ensure the safeguarding of life, health, and property.

This initiative underscores KSU’s commitment to maintaining the highest academic and professional standards in its engineering programs, aligning with national regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
